Putting Landscape at the Heart of Healthy Living
Putting Landscape at the Heart of Healthy LivingSeptember 27, 2018
CBA's work is increasingly contributing to raising the importance of landscape in the current debate around public health care, town planning and housing in the UK. As testified by the growing body of evidence, investment in landscape (or green) infrastructure can have a powerful impact on health and wellbeing throughout peoples' lives. In addition to our influential green infrastructure advice for local plans in England and Wales, we have also been exploring how housing development sites can achieve better health outcomes by adopting landscape-led design measures. Our work has focused on two of the largest pilots in NHS England 's Healthy New Towns programme - Northstowe near Cambridge (10,000 homes) and Ebbsfleet in North Kent (15,000 homes).
