Developing Sustainable Communities

Green infrastructure planning and landscape design has a vital role to play in helping develop healthy, resilient and sustainable communities.

Working collaboratively with other place-makers and local stakeholders, we help create well-designed places that reinforce and enhance local character, celebrate the past and contribute to sense of place.

Building resilience to climate change is a defining issue of our times

Our work contributes to climate change mitigation and adaptation by promoting the benefits of nature-based solutions to flood risk management and sustainable drainage, carbon storage and moderation of extreme temperatures.

Our work promotes healthy living and well-being

Our work is contributing to the current debate around radically rethinking how we live and can improve health and wellbeing through landscape-led masterplanning and design of healthy new communities for the 21st century.

We advise plan-makers, decision-makers and developers on embedding green infrastructure into development in ways that help contribute to healthy living.

Supporting nature and biodiversity

Our green infrastructure work has an important role to play in helping halt biodiversity loss and nature recovery. We develop plans for strengthening habitat connectivity at a landscape-scale and facilitating biodiversity net gain through development.  Providing opportunities for communities to engage with nature also underpins much of our work.
